Newcastle Racecourse are relocating of the existing on-course stables from the eastern corner of the site, to the corner of Chatham and Darling streets. The project will deliver a world-class facility which will cater for approximately 520 thoroughbreds, their trainers, stablehands, jockeys and Newcastle Racecourse staff. Due to the scale of the project, it is considered State Significant Development, with the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment being the consent authority.
