Adaptive reuse delivering A-grade commercial office space
Watt Street Commercial Theatre
The Watt Street Commercial Theatre project involved the adaptive reuse of an existing lecture theatre at 45 Watt Street, Newcastle, transforming the building into Class 5 A-grade commercial office space.
Avid Project Management oversaw the delivery for Watt Street Commercial Pty Ltd (Stronach Property), working alongside architect CKDS Architecture and contractor Mainbrace Constructions.
Transforming an existing Newcastle building
The development involved the conversion of the existing theatre together with a new three-storey extension to the southern end of the building, creating contemporary commercial accommodation within the existing structure.
Sustainability was a key consideration throughout the design, with the project targeting 4.5 Green Star and NABERS ratings.
