Remediation works to an iconic beachfront apartment building
York Apartments
The $1.8 million York Apartments project involved extensive remedial works to the existing fire dampers throughout the ventilation system of the beachfront residential building.
Engaged by The Owners Strata Plan 72340, Avid Project Management oversaw the delivery of the works alongside consultant Marline Building Services Engineers and contractor Collaborative Construction Services Pty Ltd.
Managing complex remedial works
The fire damper remediation was delivered under a Complying Development Certificate and in accordance with the Design and Building Practitioners Act, requiring careful management of the project’s technical and compliance requirements.
During the project, remediation was also required to the building’s front awning due to corrosion of structural members. These additional works were managed as a Separable Portion under the Contract.
